Stranded for summer

This is how I feel with the debt reduction. Stranded!!! With RJ not working money it tight. There is not one ounce of debt reduction except minimum payments. We have however done a few great things to help us out in the financial area.

We had a very successful garage sale. We made over $350+. We are on a cell phone plan with my parents which saves us all a little money. We usually pay my parents but gave them our tv that was less than a year old and hardly used. They agreed to take the nice tv in trade for cell payments for the summer. Woohoo. Another area we saved. At the price of a silly material item, as much as we liked it.

We are learning more than ever that we have had way too much stuff. I always knew this but the reality hit when my cousin and his wife sold everything they own to go into missions. They will be leaving in a month for training. They also have lived the last few years following the Dave Ramsey book to get themselves debt free. Check out their story here. It's truly inspiring!!

I am still loving blogging and have missed doing it. Check out my other blog to follow the next book I am going to start. The Power of a Praying Wife. Wowzers is it ever a great book. I have started it twice but have never finished it. Follow along and pick up your own copy. It's better than the Love Dare. :)

Untill next time, buy only what you have cash for, only what you NEED, and conitnue to make great choices and talk to your children about money from an early age. It is rewarding as we are learning. And keep praying for your spouse!!!
